Creativity is an artistic expression that each of us comes with. Our purpose in life is to find out what we enjoy doing and ultimately do it. This may have a few twists and turns in the unfolding (as life will naturally arrange), however we come with an innate knowingness that we come wanting to share our gifts with others.
Creativity comes in a wide variety of forms. It could be writing, music, art, fashion, acting, photography, singing, pattern cutting, drawing, surfing, creating spreadsheets and flow charts creating businesses. It is quite simply a unique expression of each and everyone of us.
Have you been using and tapping into your creativity of late? Maybe you have.. in which case excellent. Creativity builds a healthy sense of self and self esteem. This is because whenever you are creating, you are expressing yourself and you true self feels loved and valued. In reality, you are always creating with your thoughts. However, when you are playing an instrument for instance, you are in the moment expressing your creativity. It doesn’t have to be a market ready expression of creativity. As we all know, practice in time will build strength, performance and excellence.
The first hurdle we all face, is a sense of vulnerability. For all of us, we face doubts about ourselves with questions such as ..is it good enough? will be people like it? can I actually do this?
At some point you just have to get over that and let that go. Not everyone is going to like what you have to offer (that is one of the universal laws - law of polarity). However, make it one of your aims in life to share and serve with your creativity what you are good at. Connect with the people who do see the benefit in what you have to offer, and serve them. Not everyone can be a rock star, life is about diversity. We all have something unique to bring to the table, so just find out what your gifts and talents are and develop them. The key if you don’t know, is to ask yourself what interests you and go from there. It’s often in challenging times you might discover your creativity or talent, however it’s not the rule.
You may be creating a new business idea and have to take an extra job for a while whilst you are growing, but just remember time is your friend and opportunities meet with your preparation. There is a time to reap and there is a time to sow. When the season is right, you will reap the harvests. Just take baby steps everyday.
Your creative pursuits and passions, may in time end up serving millions of people or perhaps just a few. Either way, you will feel good that you have taken the time to develop, share and nurture your talent.
Creativity is a gift we all have, it’s not just limited to a select few. It can take years to develop a talent of excellence. But once you get going, it doesn’t stop. Your energy and enthusiasm and the fun you have snowballs. After all it’s a journey!
So allow yourself to have fun creating and be easy with yourself. The world is waiting for you and your unique expression and talents. You never know who might benefit, but I know someone who will..you!
Just when you thought your could continue no more,
and feel stuck in the conditions that you stand before
lay a world existing with all possibility,
waiting for you to clearly see.
Rising above all your perceived constraints
you adopt the patience of a saint.
Not by thinking “when will it come”?,
but by trusting the universe ”it is already done”.
Be easy and feel how good it will be
as if your dream were real to see.
The path will light up for you to achieve
when you surrender to God, trust and believe.

Return to the source
The month of August brought a few interesting gifts. Some joyful moments and others contrasting situations. The perfection of life lies when we see life for what it really is. A miracle. Whatever life may bring - joy or sorrow, it is an opportunity for life to flow through us. How we do this is up to us.
The world around us is moulded according to the vibrations we emit on a daily basis. What we deem good or bad are constructs of the mind. Beyond the mind there is a state of nothingness. Touching the source is touching the very essence of ourselves. Like the universe it is unending, unbounded pure love at its core and it is indestructible.
When challenges arise, return to source for replenishment. It will remind you of who you are and where you came from. It brings peace of mind (by freeing it) lifting the vibrations you emit.
Whether family crises or relationships, financial or health, each challenge requires an opportunity for us to melt away though thought forms that no longer serve us. They can be replaced with more empowering thoughts which develop into an attitude of faith.
So, how do we return to the source? We return to the source when swim in the ocean, when we walk in the park, listen to beautiful music, dance, laugh at a funny movie and most powerfully when we meditate. All of these activities will refresh and replenish us. Meditation is for me is the most powerful which I continue to do. It’s the ultimate in setting you free. Because when you raise your vibration, you return to love. Love will set you free and when you are not loving, meditation will help you return to your natural state.
Wishing you miracles and joy this month and opportunities to grow and expand.
With love and blessings
This month of August is a summer month bringing much joy to the holiday season and confusion too. Life is a mixture of contrast. Particularly in the city where I live.
I have spent time every morning reading a book called the “The second book of the tao” by Stephen Mitchell. I always like to read something every day that is a nugget of wisdom, inspiring and uplifting. It sets my tone for the day.
The quote I chose especially for this months blog is the “the master lives in the centre”, which I felt was timely.
There are many ways to interpret it. I encourage if you are reading this come to your own conclusion, as to what it means to you.
Below is my taking on it:
No matter what is happening in the life of a master he/she remains unperturbed by all events. The master can have all sorts of issues going on in their life, health, relationships, work, finances, their home, yet despite the illusion of what’s before their very eyes (which is always changing), they can make peace with it. Not react with fear to what’s happening.
Living in our centre, to me means being centred emotionally. This happens first in our thoughts and then in our feelings which are our response to thoughts. When we feel serenity in our hearts our conditions then begin to transform and only then. It’s always the feeling of relief and calmness we are reaching for. Every master that has walked the earth has known his/her relationship and the connection we have to each other.
I believe that the masters (which I believe we all have the potential to be) knew so much in well-being that everything else was a falsehood to them. They remained unperturbed and could quickly centre themselves when something happened, because of their knowing and ability to focus with a laser beam like quality.
May you live in the centre today and every day. And when life chucks you off centre, remember it is only temporary and that you have the ability to find your centre once again. Only a few deep breaths and a few soothing thoughts away.
For some of us the sun is shining and for others it may be raining. Good for the plants and nature I always think, if it’s the latter.
It’s not always easy to see the world through the glass lens of optimism. However, it’s the very thing you need to succeed when life challenges you, and it will. It’s always our response to the situation that will help us pull through tough times and gets us results. Knee jerk responses never help. Things are not always going to go the way we want - nature has a plan and it can see the bigger picture. We are merely a leaf on the biggest tree of life there is, all playing our part and blowing in the wind.
Challenges will arrive in different forms, however they reduce when you know how to control your emotions which come from choosing better feeling thoughts. This is clear singled minded thinking. The storms will come but can you respond knowing they will clear?
We are all focusers of energy directing in a multitude of ways. During the heart of summer with the lighter and brighter days, remember there’s a bigger plan and you are part of it. The heart of that plan counts on your head and your heart and you ability to radiate love in your activities. When you are feeling good you are radiating that feeling of love. This is what surfers call ‘the ride’ for they feel the connection to nature when riding waves. Their single-minded focus when riding the wave, allows them to tap into the source - that’s why they get addicted to that feeling and go back for more. Essentially we are addicts for feelings. The more you practice a feeling the more is hangs in your cellular make up making it easier to replay.
Next time you have a challenge remind yourself, of your strengths, remind yourself that it is temporary and focus (if you can) on activities that give you a feeling of joy whilst doing them and most importantly - ’ do what you feel is right’. Things transform when we remind ourselves we have a the ability to control our feelings and responses to the environment around us, not the other way round. The next wave is always coming.
You have a heart which is not mushy, but incredibly powerful. It’s from that centre that we emit out into the world that which responds back to us in kind. When we are shut down or closed off from the world, it responds in kind, with ‘yes you know it’ things of that vibe…namely trouble. But it’s only a vibe which can be altered when a feeling is changed.
Don’t take my word for it, let your experience of feeling good and remembering how good it feels on a daily basis teach you. And in a contrasting manner, let the experience of a challenge remind you that you have the creatively ability to respond to that too when you apply a better feeling thought which creates a softer feeling which allows you to feel easier and more tapped in.
May joy be in your hearts and peace be in your minds!
June is here and the sun is shining and colourful plants and flowers are abundant everywhere. The rain has come too, giving nature a much needed refreshment. We all need ripe earth, sunshine and water to grow.
Life just is. It does what it does naturally. It grows and changes form and evolves. We are also the same. In order to improve and enjoy our lives better we need the same ingredients, Sunshine (love), ripe earth (making good decisions) and water (faith).
All of these together bring about results. However, during this month it has been made clear to me that words and people do not really teach and affect everyone the same way. One thing is universal though, our experience is what teaches us.
We all experience and perceive differently. Everyone has a different set of eyes and we all look through them differently. We tend to live our lives based on our experiences and come to new conclusions all the time, whether good or bad.
I once found a lottery ticket which blew to my feet as if by magic after opening the front door. I took it to a local store and found that it was a winner albeit £10. I was still over the moon! To my delight in that experience I thought and continue to think that amazing things like that could happen again and again for me. If it can happen for me once, it could surely happen again!! Not that I am an avid lottery player, but this example is just something out of the ordinary.
A seemingly small incident or event can change what you think and believe is possible at a young age whether it’s positive or negative. It’s up to you. When you’re younger you tend to draw conclusions based on that’s just the way it is.
However, life is always changing. Anything can be remoulded and changed. Our experiences help us form quick conclusions on the best route for us. Hence mistakes help us become stronger when we choose a new path.
Well, I wish you wonderful experiences where you break the boundaries of what you thought was possible this month.
The heavens have opened blessing us with much warmth sunshine and longer hours in the Northern hemisphere. We have swung into month of May- yay! and it’s sunny and bright. Is the same disposition happening with you on the inside?
We all swing between being in and out of sync, or in other words we sway between the light and dark in us. The dark in us serves the light by reminding us of our new preferred wants, and plants new seeds. Whereas the light in us, radiates love from us out like a beacon. It soothes and uplifts.
Do you feel like you are moving in the direction of your dreams or away from them?
Are you doing little things like working towards bettering yourself and your relationships and business?
Movement is what brings rewards. The universe only gives us what we can handle. It is gentle and nurturing, yet powerful beyond all measure. It roots for our success. Life is about growth, and growth is about movement. And success comes from movement.
So take the time to move your body through song and dance, exercise or play. Nurture the inner child in you by playing games like you did when you were young, whether it’d be football, cycling or hopscotch. Whatever it may be, it doesn’t matter. The only thing that matters is that if only for a short while you paid attention to the kid in you, you may feel more alive!
I was watching the kids scooter around the park recently having so much fun. This reflection made me think why don’t I give to myself the gift of play like this? My thoughts were “We’ve got a scooter and I’ve never used it”, and my adult self was saying “adults don’t ride them”.
So, I took a ride and dismissed the voice. I felt I had been forcing things to happen in my activities, which felt totally unproductive so a break would be welcomed. My shadow/dark was saying ” I can do this all by myself…I am a control freak, I don’t need help”. And my inner child was saying “I want to play please let me out”.
As it happens, I brought out the scooter, it was pure fun. My inner child felt loved and nurtured and heard. I didn’t really understand this concept until this happened. After scootering around only for 20 minutes I took a breather in the park and the phone rang. Offers for business started flying in. I realised that my dark wants to control and my inner child wants to play. They both serve me. One keeps me orderly, the other allows the fun side to play through. The balance of responsibility.
If you play you can be of the same energy that all you want is vibrationally on. It takes awareness and movement. If you get an idea, try it and do be put off by the voice that goes - “oh no you shouldn’t be doing that!”!
Have fun and feel good folks - that’s our purpose!!!
April - the blessing of Spring with its array of colours, flowers and milder weather and not forgetting the light!.
I was up in London the other day and found this sign quite clearly stated in bold on a wall in colourful lettering. I was struck for a moment in awe. “Couldn’t be any clearer universe, could you!!!” I exclaimed.
Am I ready for change? “better be”, I thought!!
The outer reflects the inner. Everything is an indication of wherever you are. So given that the universe is always talking and that being open to listening and paying attention takes some awareness, I did appreciate this gift from the universe. I love that there is this kind of birdseye view of overseeing going on in our lives which always fascinates me. But you really have to pay attention to the signs, that is the key. Everyone is receiving their own messages and that was clearly one for me. In bold and with colour!
I am taking time right now in this last week before I move to give thanks and appreciation for the cycle that is coming to a close and looking for the blessings that have happened during this time. There are many.
The new in my life will bring fresh new opportunities to learn and grow. So if you are undergoing change in your life - embrace it. The world is always changing and so are we it’s just part of life. Let go of the old gently, appreciate it and move on!!
